My husband Chris has recently set up his own catering business called Veni & Son. You may have seen me talking about it on my social media pages.
If you have, I want to thank you for all the support you have shown him. This means the world to us. I am just so very proud of him and thought it was worth writing about.
The name Veni & Son – derives from the word ‘Venison.’ Back in the olden days, the word Venison was used to describe the flesh of any animal killed by hunting, especially a boar, hare or deer. In fact it was also used to describe the flesh of game birds. Now the name Venison is only used to describe the flesh of a deer.
The branding all began when Chris found a very funny cute little drawing of a deer, and instantly knew he wanted a brand mascot. We worked closely with Kate, an amazing artist who drew exactly what we envisioned. Little ‘Veni’ our main brand mascot was born! But we couldn’t leave Veni to hold the brand fort all by himself. So we asked Kate to draw what she described as our “Venimals.” These funny and cute little characters represent their enthusiasm for ultra-organic, sustainable wild food, which they will be serving at all their events, and will be a major part of all their menus.
I have been closely involved with their website, branding and social media and I would like to thank Holly from Ginger & Moon for building their epic website.
All the photos used on the Veni & Son website and their social media are mine – Yes, what a lucky guy he is to have me, his wifey photographer!
They have been overwhelmed by the support and likes and positive feedback and I just want to say thank you.
Chris has been describing me as Veni & Son’s “Head of marketing” which in itself is a great honour. I am very excited to be apart of their new business adventure, and cannot wait to watch it grow from strength to strength.
Between Bevan’s outstanding cooking, and Chris’s impressive ability to organise any event large or small, you have got yourselves an exceptional duo. If you are looking for catering with a difference, look no further!
